Value not found for the first time

Hi,

I have a hidden field in my DCR called productId. Am generating this productId from an ipl. When i do generate, my file generated must be this productId.xml. Am able to get the productId from ipl, i can see it executing in javascript. But while generating, for the first time, it generates as ".xml". If i regenrate the file again, it works fine.It generates a file called "productId.xml". Could anyone tell me why productId is not obtained for the first time?

Note that the callServer() method is asynchronous.
Your code continues executing immediately after the call to callServer(). In your case:

value = idGenerateHandler();
fileItem.setValue(value);

Second line here is evaluated before newProductXml.ipl has been run and quite possibly before it was
even started. You (a developer) have to synchronise callServer within your JS Client thread, see FormAPI
manual or search Forum for samples

Hi All,

Thanks for your suggestions.I found the bug. I initially called my ipl in onSave, and now i changed to onItemChange.Its working now.
