Images folder in different branch

My images folder is in a different branch. By using the visual editor I am unable to browse to that branch. I have a perl script through which I can move directly to the images folder in a different branch. I use it directly in my Data template. Is there a way in Visual editor in which I can call my perl script. Or is there any other way in which the images folder (in a different branch) can be accessed in Visual editor.

Can you share the browse code you used to hit another branch than the one you are calling it from? Thanks.
