remove "get latest" button and link for roles

I was trying to see if there was a way to limit (remove) seeing the Get Latest heading button and menu-link to certain roles.

we dont want some of our users to see it..

TS6.7.1 (no-sp1) - Solaris 10

I tried to just add this to the userops_custom.xml (and rebuilt the app), but although it shows the checkbox now under Roles, it seems it has no effect..

yeah, and the option shows under Manage Roles as a custom option.. but checked or unchecked.. doesnt stop Get Latest if from showing up.

Unless you can do it via Manage Roles - I don't believe there is any way to limit OOTB menu items the way that was being described; instead you have to explicitly remove the item entirely and then add in your own custom item - the custom item can then be controlled via userops.xml / Manage Roles

Excellent - precisely what I described though in much grander detail (which is good for the forums) - now all you need to do is close the thread ;-)
