iw sql open with Oracle

I am having a problem getting iw_sql_open to work against an Oracle database.

Currently, we are successfully dumping the data into the database via Datadeploy on the same box.

But, the tpl does not seem to be able to connect. I am getting this error :

iw_sql_open: ORA-01034: ORACLE not available
ORA-27101: shared memory realm does not exist
SVR4 Error: 2: No such file or directory (DBD ERROR: OCISessionBegin)
:/intranet/main/dominionnet/ba.delivery.critical_projects/WORKAREA/work/templatedata/special/critical_proj/presentation/project_compiler.tpl

The specific code is fairly simple :

I have installed it for another project, to interact with a Web Logic Portal, but I am not sure that I achieved the same results as the knowledge base article. Thanks for the link and I will endeavor to get that done shortly.

For the time being, I am in a crunch and to implement that (with our change management) would put undue pressures on the project.

So, let me approach it from another direction. I have successfully used DAtaDeploy to insert the dcr data into the database. I also have used it to pull all relevant records and subsequently create an xml file with everything.

Is there a way to tell forms publisher to use this xml file as the DCR? I have set extended attributes on valid DCR's before, but am not sure about doing this with an xml file (that has different tags) created by datadeploy.

As long as the XML conforms to a DCT's DTD and is located within templatedata/category/data-type/data/ and has the proper EA set on it - it will be treated like a DCR.

If your xml file has the same structure as described by you in your DCT, there should not be any problem provided you have applied necessary extended attributes to the file.

Alright, I think I need some help here - at least to be pointed in the right direction.

I have the xml file (I have attached the dev one I am using). I have also used iwextattr to set the extended attributes to make it a valid dcr.

But, when you say the 'same structure as defined by your dct', I am running into issues. I have been going through the manual on Forms Publishing for the last day and see where there is 'XML Mapping' functionality. Is this what I am supposed to do? Create a DCT that 'could' build the xml file that I have?

I am certainly not asking for anyone to give me the solution, but I am afraid that my knowledge of FP might not be enough to get this done. So, any pointers or examples would be great.
