the reason you would move your site to the Site Publisher/Livesite Framework is to help clearly define areas of responsibility. Your technical people will develop the components with well defined customization points which are the building blocks. Then your site managers can use them to build sites and pages in a graphical/wysiwyg manor /w out having to know about the technicall implementation details. Your content contributers can input content directly the component customization points or into Data Capture Records that get consumed by the components. Livesite also provides other functionality that will help you optimize your site. You should contact a Sales rep who can go over your needs and see how best to leverage the SP/LS framework.
