Can Metatagger search embedded Metadata

Can the Metatagger "Search" function access Metadata that is embedded in a file or can it only access the extended attributes properties that have been set using Metatagger? We would like to be able to run a search on some xml files that have embedded Metadata tags and also extended attributes.

One of MetaTagger's core functions is the preprocessor that is used to extract embedded metadata from structured content. It's an efficient way to parse HTML, XML and other content for metadata values. Best bet for your situation might be to set up a preprocessor to populate your extended attributes with extracted data.
