This is a long standing issue we have had to live with because it wasn't resolvable via support and the project is ongoing so we can't tweak the library all that much. I have one question about what a specific executable and dll do for MP and of course would accept any suggestions. A clean install of both OS, MP and java then a restore of the data yields the same problem - FYI.

When the indexer runs this executable crashes over and over again with an:

An unexpected exception has been detected in native code outside the VM.
Unexpected Signal : unknown exception code (0x24) occurred at PC=0x77E4BEE7
Function=RaiseException+0x3C
Library=C:\WINDOWS\system32\kernel32.dll

Current Java thread:

Any idea what these specific files (iminso.exe) and (Library=D:\vr_wsmp\MP4\mpserver\lib\dll\VSW97.DLL) are controlling?

iminso.exe is the process that opens documents and extracts their text so the indexer can process them.

It is not a very reliable process, it does crash with some frequency. The indexer works around these crashes by monitoring the process and restarting it when necessary.

You should only worry if you notice files that are not being indexed.
