Image corruption on TS 6.7.1.

Hi,

When upload an image on TS 6.7.1 from local machine (any jpg, or bmp), and deploy it, it gets corrupted. When we go to iw-mount and try to open the images, it gives an error saying paint cannot open this file. Format not supported. See the attachment.

Any help would be appreciated.

Have you tried opening in some other Image viewer software or in web browser only?

What you can try doing (I assume Win XP) is right click on the picture, click on properties then click on the change button located to the right of the of the words "Open with:" and change it to another imaging program such as Irfan view ;Paint Shop Pro and then you'll be able to open it up .

Else Try installing another Image Viewer apart from MS Paint and see if the Issue persists .What is the extension of the file that you are having issues with in MS Paint(Default Image viewer) after the import ?

When you import your image to TS, are you able to preview it in the browser? Did you try to open it on your local machine using browser? I feel that there is some issue with the image file itself.

When i upload the image in TS and preview it, it shows fine. If I submit it to staging then even it is ok, but when i deploy it to any server it gets corrupted and shows a 'x' ( in the web browser also and on machine also) . The problem is not the MSPaint.

Is the file physically transfered to your web server?
If yes, check its size. Is it same as original?
If not, then there is some problem with your OpenDeploy configuration which is not transferring the file correctly.

Otherwise, check in your web page if you havementioned correct references to fetch image file. If your mentioning relative path like /images/abc.gif check if you have proper folder structure under ur root folder in your web server.

One more point which could be irrelevant but giving a thought: Is your webserver configured for displaying the image files with extension jpg or bmp? Did you face this problem before?

No we import images from mediabin and deploy them on websever and it all works fine. the problem is happening with images uploaded from local machine only.

You have to explain a little more about the scenario to make us able to help you out. If you are able to preview the images on TS and not able to preview them on web server, then there is definitely some problem in deployment. Have you checked if the images are physically present in your web server?

ok. I am able to preview before deploying them. they are present on web server after deployment with the same size but when you access them, it shows "X" or some blurred image. When i go to iw-mount after deploying them and open it, it show what i attached i my first post. I hope i make that clear.

Try one thing. Instead of deploying the image from TS, put it directly in your web server and then try to preview it. If the problem persists then there is definitely something wrong with your web server settings.

I agree with Kshitiz. You need to narrow down the problem from the 3 systems - TeamSite, OD, Web Server to 1 system.

Also, I'd suggest testing with different file formats. Test jpegs, bmps, tiffs, gifs, etc. Also check file permissions as per submit.cfg.

Upload different extensions like Gif/Jpg/Png And then Navigate to the [\\\IWServer\default\main\WORKAREA\myNewWA\Folder]
image location and make sure the image(s) appear with their extensions(jpg,png,gif) And try opening them with an application like Irfanview other than the default MS Paint.

I think it has been mentioned before but it smells like a proxy remap issue.

Try this:

go to http://tsserver:81/iw-mount/default/main/branch/WORKAREA/content/images/this-doesnot-work.bmp and see if the browser renders it properly
