How to empty staging when switching workareas?

Hi All

For a site refresh we've moved to another workarea.

All the files have been submitted, but the files from the previous workarea are still in staging. Is there any way of emptying the staging area so we can submit a fresh copy of our site from the new workarea?

Create an empty workarea and then do a submit with override, or, create a populated workarea, delete everything in it and do a submit with override.

Either should remove all the versions currently in staging, but leave them in the editions for that branch so you can reference them / restore them as desired.

If you don't want the historical versions either - then you should be creating a new branch, not just a new workarea

excellent advice, thanks fish.

I created an edition of the old site, deleted the workarea content, submitted it to clear the staging area, then created a new workarea from the edition.

worked a treat!
