The aim is to upgrade Mediabin from 4.5.2 to 4.6.1, in my case there already exist Mediabin 4.5.2 . in the system, Please clarify :
Your case is not a generic one..Regular upgrade are on the top of the older versions
1. Should i start it as a new installation for Installing MediaBin Asset Server for Microsoft SQLServer (4.6.1) .
First read the manual "MediaBin® Installation and Upgrade Guide"-Release 4.6.1 . This is good enough to get all the information about an upgrade
Make sure your H/W and S/W are compactable with MB 4.6.1
2.Will it have impact on the current 4.5.2 version installed.
Of course , you are no more going to use the 4.5.2 .If you upgrade properly , the existing assets , folder system , permission , Metadata , tasks etc.. remains as it is
Make a copy of your customization files
3.What are the pre requisities that need to be performed.
First read the manual "MediaBin® Installation and Upgrade Guide"
If any one can help me with the sequence of steps to be followed in this upgradation process. Please share your knowlege.

I have recently done a successful 4.5.2 to 4.6.1 upgrade. The things to note are;1. Make sure you back up your current MBDataDirectory and your database. The uprade will upgrade your database2. Also backup you 4.5.2 installation3. If you have customizations in 4.5.2, you will need to reapply them to 4.6.1 - (there are some code changes you need to be aware of between versions - IWOV can send you a list of asp pages that have changed between versions 4. I tested the upgrade in a test environment before doing it in production I would recommend this highly.5. There is an upgrade guide in the documentation -if you can't find it I might have one lying around I can post - let me know
Hi,Your inputs wud certainly help me in getting a good start. The document you referred to is MediaBin®Installation and Upgrade Guide Release 4.6.1 that can be downloaded from the manuals or anything other than that you have. If so Please attach it. Thanks in advance!
You can download the manuals from support site

If you are looking for some specific Docs
Please contact MB support ,they can help you
Any idea as to how to find out Total size of MediaBin Repository Database (SQLSERVER).??
You should mention your MS SQL Server Ver ,
If you are using SQL Server 2005
Use SQL Server Management Studio and
Select the property of the db you want to view the size ,
which will display the space allocated and the space used for a particular db
