Move Backing Store from OS to LDAP users
Abhi_CC
Need some advice.
We are currently using TeamSite 6.7.1 with OS accounts. It is our production Solaris server for past year or so. Now we have installed 6.7.1. SP1 on a new Solaris server all together. For this new install we plan to use LDAP accounts from the corporate LDAP. This is to get rid of the OS accounts.
There are couple of questions
1) To move the backing store from the current server 6.7.1 (With OS accounts) to the new server ( non-os accounts) what are the prerequisites steps to be taken ?
2) Non-OS account is with the common user "iwguser" whereas the existing files/folders are owned by OS users all across.
Thanks
Abhijit

In addition to the above questions how is everyone dealing with other migrations like
1. Non-OS users cannot be the owners of external tasks since OS impersonation is not possible; use an URL external task
Is External Task Commands using URL's is the only option?
How about running them owner as "SYSTEM"??
What are the options in this area?
2. Non-OS users cannot use the Perl compiler to compile presentation templates. The XSLT PT compiler must be used.

any suggestions?? Please

You will want a few OS users. It may be admin, but typically you create a user like tsadmin, giving it rights to do what it needed and use it. On my Win 2003 6.7.1 implementation, my login and tsadmin are the only users on the box, the remainder are domain accounts and do not have local access.
What am I missing here ?
