Instantiator CGI in workflow

I am confused with instantiator CGI.

I tried to go through PDF, but could not understand where does a user interact with instantiator CGI. I mean which form or user interface is invoked by the instantiator CGI.

When I click on "submit" button after finishing a work on template and a form comes up to select a workflow, upon selecting workflow, form comes up to enter comments. This form is asking to enter comments, is this produced by instantiator CGI ? if not, then what is done by instantiator CGI that user interacts with ? Because after the comments are submitted and "Run Job" button is clicked, task in the workflow starts.

Pls explain.

Instantiator CGI is just a CGI through which you can instantiate a workflow in a wft format. Internally it compiles and invokes the workflow on its own based on the param being passed while calling.

The form you have displayed after selection the workflow from the list is what is being coded within the specific workflow only.

After selecting the workflow you wish to run, the instantiator CGI will process the workflow template / model to find any user-interactive prompts. If there is at least one such prompt that is required without a default value - then the instantiator will present the form (with all prompts, whether specified as required or not) to the user to fill in information.
Once that information has been filled in (or in the absence of any such prompts) the instantiator takes care of completing the compilation of the workflow template / model to create an instance of the workflow - called a "job".
