Customizing DCT's Error/Validation messages

Hi All,

I am using Teamsite 6.7.1 on UNIX environment.

Please tell me if it is possible to customize Teamsite custom Error/Validation messages which prompts the user when any required field of dct is left blank when form submit action is called.

I have gone through the UI customization guide but didn't got any useful information.

Depending on which messages you are talking about - the answer is actually in FormAPI not UICG. You can provide your own custom validation function, and that function can then format the information about errors and such and display them in several different ways - usually an alert box.

I do not believe that there is an officially supported mecahnism for doing so.

There are potentially semi-supported hack methods (where you find the source of the message, create a copy of the file(s) in the appropriate location within iwhome/local/config/lib/content_center/customer_src/ modify the copy and rebuild the toolkit -- but if something breaks, you're pretty much on your own.

You might open a case with Support to file a feature request - if you do, make sure to provide a clear explanation of the use-case / rationale for being able to do what you want, and give specific examples of the messages you're interested in being able to so customize.
