How to regenerate DCR files

Hi,
I have to incorporate a new feature in around 1500 webpages. This calls for change in their corresponding DCR files.
I already modified the datacapture.cfg file and as a result the new field is visible in DCR file. But to get the things reflected in JSP page I have to manually edit and submit all the DCR files.
Is there any way or a script which helps me out to do the desired activity. (Like iwregen helps out to regenerate a number of JSP at a time).

There is nothing OOTB that is going to do this for you.

You can create a custom script to traverse through your DCRs and insert a new node into the XML to correspond with the new item in your DCT - but is the value for that node static? or can you programmatically determine what the value should be in your script?

If yes - then go for it.
If not - then I think you will have to either manually edit each DCR to populate that field, or create some form of configuration file that contains a mapping of DCR and the value which should be placed into that node so that you can semi-automate the process.

Assuming you can truly automate the insertion of the new value for the new field in the DCRs - your script can also take care of generating the output files, submitting and deploying everything.

Some of that though, assumes that you have a consistent directory structure and naming convention for your DCRs and their corresponding generated pages. If you don't have that consistency you can attempt to tackle it from the other side by traversing all the generated output files and running iwregen on them. You can then either automate the submit & deploy process - or pick that up separately via the GUI (allowing you to verify the results before you commit them)

I'm assuming you have a workflow process that takes care of submit & deploy.
