mail template not found in store

Hi Folks,

I've got a brand new Solaris installation of TS 6.7.1, and I'm just getting familiar with some of the solution workflows. In particular:

./local/config/wft/solutions/configurable_author_assignment.wft

When I initiate this workflow from CCpro, everything seems to work OK except that I get this interesting message in the "Task" view of my Workflow tab:

Last Comment: Mail template "author_iwmailheader.tpl" not found in store. Mail is not sent.

Needless to say, I didn't get an email!

Does anyone have any idea where I should put this template? Am I supposed to put these templates in the templatedata directory of the branch where I am working?

Normally, the PTs for the iw_solution_mail.ipl are in IWHOME/local/config/wft/solutions/ - so I'd start by checking there.
If it isn't there then either somebody removed it, you had a bad installation, or something else went wrong somewhere -- in either case you should probably contact IWOV Support to have them work with you to check if that is the only file missing, to determine if you should do a reinstall, or if they should just send you the missing file(s).

I can think of other scenarios in which this might happen, but based upon the information you provided, the above seems the most likely course of action.

Looks right (I haven't verified the file sizes though) - have you tried enabling both $DEBUG and $VERBOSE in the iw_solution_email.ipl script and then looking for the output file in IWHOME/tmp/ after you run the process?

I did have debugging on, and I noticed that it wasn't even running

iw_solution_email.ipl

at all. After some more digging and I noticed this in my generated workflow XML (

That's a URL task, which is running a web-service CGI (which I believe is coded in Java, not Perl).

I believe it is the same program used by Workflow Modeller for it's Email Tasks - Look in the WFM manual for more details - or just use iw_solution_email.ipl (as you did) instead.

I haven't had much luck using the web-command for sending email, but to be honest, I've only tried once - I switched to using iw_solution_email.ipl for expediency and never went back to it. I posted a question about it some months ago, and someone did respond with information about debugging the web-command, but unfortunately, I don't seem to be able to find it right now (sorry) - perhaps you'll have better luck finding it? (if you decide to pursue debugging the OOTB workflow)
