how to clone data between two dev teamsite servers?

Now, We have two teams doing teamsite developing at the same time. I want to clone data from one teamsite to another. How to do it? Meanwhile, after cloned, the history of file is still saved?

This is a more complex thought right in the first take so Involve someone who as experience doing this as I know there's nothing available OutOfTheBox . Its like configuring a Cold Standby Server(That gets a updated BS frequently ).The effort involved will Depend on your Env. [SAN/NAS/DAS on Windows or Solaris under ADS or LDAP etc]. You will need to address the security,permissions,file locking issues involved .

Assuming that the users and permissions on the two server don't change too frequently .You can write some scripts to freeze,compress and copy the Backing stores then address the permission changes(If required iwidmap/iwmigrate There's more to be done...) .. So

-put the backing store on a mirrored disk array or LUN
-iwfreeze TeamSite (locking out users)
-break the mirror and take one array offline
-iwunfreeze TeamSite
-sync cold TeamSite server storage w/ the offline array
-use mirroring software to re-sync the two arrays and re-create the mirror

The problem with this is that the end users are affected on every iwfreeze. Runnng a nightly script Once a day is probably acceptable. But If they want to do this 4 times a day, end-users will not be happy with all of the iwfreezes.

Kindly explain what exactly do you want to synchronize? Do you want to synchronize the scripts/configs from iw-home or your iw-mount? After reading your initial question, my guess is that you are looking to synchronize your iw-mount? Is this a correct assumption?

What Napo is trying to do is creating a Mirror for hiw teamsite ona different server.

I totally agree on what nbwoven said, thats the only way you can do it. As he said be aware that a cnage in your present teamsite will not get to your mirror teamsite till tomorrow.

If you do not want to complicate your self then write like "N" number of scripts for each workarea to copy all the content from teamsite to mirror teamsite and attach exteneded attributes as required. (This procedure is messy of all).

By the way, i was wondering what exactly was the requirement from your manager??

I am a new bie for interwoven, so some question maybe very funnny.
The two teams use two defferent timesite server.(including OD,livesite).
Because they belong two different company.
At the current, my team(team A) just need keep synchronous with another team(team

. We will not code in this week. But from next week, my team will also be involved. There are two plans but not decide now.
plan1: team A will begin coding and team B will stop.
plan2: Both team A and team B will code together on self server.

As my idea, plan2 maybe more complex than plan1. and I don't know how to "merge" between two servers(diffetent timezone).

"data" what i told is mean metadate, content... Because both of them are Dev server, user and group is not necessary.

In one word, i am searching an easy solution to synchronous team B Server. We will do this job one time everyday.

if your teamA and teamB are working in same company why not have an open connection for one team to access Teamsite located in other teams workplace or vice versa. This would be a proper use of resources. You can set the permissions accordingly to keep once content private.

If you still wanna do a mirror follow the suggestions mentioned in this post.
Once you have implemented what you wanted you can update this post for others with your knowledge.
