How to write a customised execute of a command

I need to replicate the move functionality with some customisation any sample code of such type would be of great help.

For instance, are you attempting to mimic the functionality behind moving a document from one folder to another inside your own independent application? Or, you're customizing the native command, such as you would like to do something before or after the move command is executed?

The present Move functionality does not move the document across libraries rather it copies a shortcut to a different library if moved. I need to override the same where the file should physically moved to a different database when moved across databases.

So you would like to import a copy of the document file from database A to database B? You can only duplicate the document file and some of its profiled metadata to store in another dataabase since metadata can be different amongst databases, and the document file is rooted to the database to which the file was orginally imported.

If indeed that's the case, then you would need to use the ICommand custom to replace the existing move command by replacing the default progid with the progid to your custom command in the respective registry key settings. The WorkSite iToolkit SDK has a manual that explains how this is done. In 8.x, the manual is named "Creating Custom Commands in WorkSite". There are also sample projects in the iCommand folder under the installed path of the SDK.
