Visual Format will not install

Good Morning All,

I have recently upgraded from TS 6.5.1 sp1 to TS 6.7.1 sp1, and am coming across a strange issue with visual format. A few of my users (including myself) are not able to get visual format installed. When I try to edit a DCR that has a visual format toolbar, it says that I must run the client installation. I follow the instructions and download the executable installation file. I run it and everything runs fine, and it says that it has been installed correctly. I restart my browser, try to edit a DCR, and it tells me that I need to install visual format.

I am running Windows XP Professional, have administrator privileges, and have rebooted several times.

Has anyone else experienced the same issue or does anyone have any suggestions?

Have you verified the installation of the VF client?

TST 6.7.1 SP1 ships with VF version 5.1.041. You can verify the installation of the client by looking for file ewebeditpro5.ocx under C:\Program Files\Interwoven\VisualFormat. Check the version of the ocx.

Thanks for the suggestions, but I am still not able to get visual format to install. After reading the first posting, I verified that I did have the file "ewebeditpro5.ocx" located under the program files/interwoven/visualformat directory. My first thought was that maybe my computer thought it was still using the older version. I then went through the process of removing the application, physically deleting the interwoven directory, rebooting, and then re-installing visual format. I then tried it again, and it is still saying that I need to install the application. I also tried another reboot and I still get the same error. I think my next move is to contact Interwoven support, but I am still open for any suggestions.

You may have to search and clear out the registry on the client machine

Answer a few questions -

is this happening for just one client machine or all client machines?
What version of JVM are you using?
What browser, version are you using?
