Not out of the box, but you can do it pretty easily. You can pass a TPL variable to the TPL in the WF.

Not sure, if this will be an accurate answer to your Query but I ran into a similar scenario and i ended up giving users preview option only since generation is done automatically in the workflow..

I am using iwgen in workflow to generate dcrs. I am not sure if we can pass any parameters which can be referenced in TPL.

you should be using iwpt_compile directly.. iwgen also calls iwpt_compile ..

My understanding is iwgen also sets the extended attributes and check templating configuration. That's why I've used it in the workflow. I normally use iwpt_compile for debugging. I guess I can pass a parameter and access that in argument hash in tpl. Thanks for the feedback. I was wondering if there is a straightforward method for accessing that in tpl.

Do you really mean that PT-A generates PT-B??

The passing of parameters between iw_include'd PTs is well documented in

How are you generating content from PT B? If you are running iwpt_compile again, then it is easy.

As you mentioned? I don't think so:

In the initial case you indicate that you are generating a TPL(B) from TPL(A).
Now you indicate that you want to generate a page using PT B every time you generate a page using PT A (per DCR).

Would it be a correct interpretation of this latter desire that: You want to generate two pages from every DCR (of a particular type) - one via PT A and one via PT B?
And you want to use the ofile name that is the result of processing DCR-x with PT-A somewhere within the output of PT-B processing the same DCR?

I can think of ways you might be able to do this, but most of them have to rely on knowledge of the environment and whether or not you use programmatically generated output file names and locations (which is always recommended IMO).

However, I'm curious: What is the use-case behind processing DCR-x with PT-A to generate page-A and with PT-B to generate page-B that references page-A? I'm just not understanding the rationale behind this scenario.

Use case would certainly be helpful. Also, is PT B used any time other than when PT A is run ? You could use iw_ostream and include PT B within PT A.
