Extending Save As dialog

Hi,

My apologies for asking a basic question as I am very new to Interwoven.

I have a requirement of extending the Save As dialog by putting a checkbox that, if ticked and saved, will store document nrl to a 3rd party system.

What is involved in making it happen in a high level? From reading various threads in the forum, I need access to the Form SDK and Application Designer?

Is there a project to get me started?

Does Application Designer requires additional license to WorkSite?

How do I deploy the custom Save As form?

If difficult, perhaps I can create a custom application that integrates with Microsoft Office toolbar, and displays the tickbox itself?

The SDK does not support adding a checkbox or any additional controls to the WorkSite Save As dialog. I don't think there's a way to manually add one ,such via the Dialog Editor or registry key settings, either.

What you could do, alternatively, would be to catch PostOnOK event to popup a message box to prompt for user's response. You may then export the document profile info to your external database. You may do this via the FileSave.nrs script. The sample scripting and usage support is provided through the ownership/purchase of the WorkSite iToolkit 8.x.

It's a pitty that the the Save As dialog cannot be modified.

Is it possible to modify the document property window and put a checkbox there? If so, do I need WorkSite iToolkit to do it?

No, unfortunately, you cannot add any external controls in any part of the real estate of the dialog via the SDK.
