Browser button return partial content when browsing to a different branch

I have a requirement where the DCT on one branch needs to browse the content of another branch.
Current Branch: '/MNO/PQR/WORKAREA/main'

Target Branch:


The browse function is pointing to the correct location when its clicked however the resulting string misses out some part. For instance it returns only the following string:

'KAREA/main/abc.xml'

Is there a way to either return only the file name or the entire path?

You are missing a great deal of information.

What OS ? What level of TS ? Is this a custom browse button ? Are you using FormAPI on that field ?
