again: NT access rights
tobias
Using TS 5.5.2 on NT, which access rights does a usergroup need on the different folders of the Y: drive's folder tree, starting from "Y:\default"?
I have a workarea whose owner is my master user, and which is shared with a local NT group called "servername\pricing" ("servername" being the name of my TS server). So, by default this usergroup has full access on the workarea's content when the workarea is created.
Now I want to revoke these rights for all folders of the workarea except one specific folder (to make sure the members of this user group can only change this folder's content): I edited the workarea's main folder's access rights for the group from "full" to "read" inheriting this to the entire workarea content. Then I picked the specific folder and changed the access rights from "read" back to "change". However, that doesn't come out the way I expected it to.
As I suppose this is pretty common practice when creating a workarea for a specific user group, this question might sound silly to you but I can't understand why it doesn't work (and the documentation in the TS Administration Guide on pages 80 ff. doesn't help much either).
Any suggestions?

Have you looked at the submit.cfg file - perhaps that will help you do what you are looking to do?

the branch structure is also a factor is you use mandatory write lock then files are always read access and teamsite changes the read access to write when a file is locked.
also look at the submit.cfg when files are submited the file access writes are automatically changed

ghoti, fuzzy:
thanks for the suggestions, however, the problem has solved itself miraculously (like so many other things in TS) without any further action. If I login using an appropriate account I can see and access the workarea just as I wanted to.
Could it be that there's some strange lag or something, because I'd done several "iwreset -ui" before I posted my original question here, without any noticeable effect?!
But now, a couple of hours later it just works. Strange...

Unless it has something to do with your PDC - I'm not sure why it lagged like that and then started to work - but I'm glad it's working.
