Delete Multiple Versions of File

Teamsite 6.1 on windows 2000.

How to get rid of mulitple versions of file in content store ?

Is there any way to create script and delete them ? Will it be performance insentive ?

Teamste displays each version around 1.25 MB and we have about 8,000 versions.

Read the admin manual and take an admin course.

In the mean time run iwfsshrink run

and that will get rid of duplicate information, it typically frees up a significant amount of space.

Do you actually have 8000 distinct versions of the file? Or do you have N versions of the file that happen to appear within 8000 distinct editions?

In the latter case - you are only paying for storage space of the N versions plus a minor amount of space for each edition's reference to those versions
