ouput CDATA

OK, I am creating an XML file from a TPL. I was asked to wrap a field in a CDATA field. According to the doc - /iw/help/tst/pt/TeamSite__PT__iw_pt.html, if the TPL is not a script XML file then it should pass the data straight thought. However, this:

<![CDATA[ {iw_value name='dcr.Root.LeftSection.Title'/} ]]> 
[/html]

produces this

[html]

Am I missing something or is it a bug ?

CDATA's have always been tricky in my experience since the TPL is XML based itself.. here is what I do for the same thing..[html]
iwpt_output("<"."?xml version=\"1.0\" encoding=\"UTF-8\""."?".">"); my $start = "<" . "!" . "[CDATA["; my $end ="]]" . ">"; iwpt_output("<folderaccess>\n"); foreach my $folder (iwpt_dcr_list('dcr.Directory')){ iwpt_output("<folder>\n"); my $title= iwpt_dcr_value('folder.Directory_Title); iwpt_output("<title>$start$title$end<\/title>\n"); iwpt_output("<\/folder>\n"); } iwpt_output("<\/folderaccess>\n");

You *should* not have to do that according to the docs. But what the TPL help page says is not working.

FYI - Seems you dont have to concatenate the opening CDATA tag quite so much. As long as the < and > chacaters are separated that seems to be enough.

"<" . "![CDATA[" . iwpt_dcr_value('x.record.content.headline') . "]]" . ">";

yeah.. I cleaned it up below.. just in case anyone was looking at some point down the road.. though still using the variables to try to keep it "clean".. its a shame it was even needed..
