Getting CSException while calling getClient.

Hi,

My Java application is deployed on Weblogic 10.2 server. The application(Based on Structs) connects to Teamsite using CSSDK. This is working fine if my application is deployed in Weblogic 8.1 SP5.

Now, If I deploy the application in Weblogic 10.2 , I get this CS Exception.

Please see the attchement for more detail...

The error is comming up when the application tries to get "CSClient" using :-

CSClient oPortalClient = factory.getClient(m_sPortalClientUser,"master",m_sPortalClientPassword,Locale.getDefault(),"CMS",null);

To get more specific detail :-
We printed "factory.getDomains()" and suprisingly,

In Weblogic 8.1 - I am getting correct values
In Weblogic 10.2 - I am getting Nullpointer Exception.

I don't know what does this error code implies.

which factory object are you using? Without the src, its difficult to pinpoint where the null pointer is creeping in.

I have moved a step further on this issue.

I replaced Axis.jar, CSSDKSOAP.jar & CSSDKIFACE.jar with the latest version which I could get from other server location (where CSSDK 3.1 Client is installed). After doing this, I am not getting the error which I metioned in my email , that of unable to get Client ...

Code :

CSFactory factory = CSFactory.getFactory(props);

// Make a portal client:
CSClient oPortalClient = factory.getClient(m_sPortalClientUser,"master",m_sPortalClientPassword,Locale.getDefault(),application,null);

So , now I have the client.

After getting the client , my application is trying to retrieve tasks for a user from Teamsite. This is where I am getting a new error. attaching the error with this post.

Code snippet for retrieving the tasks list :-

The query needs to be an XML document string, not "" as you have in your code. Read the CLT manual for how to query tasks correctly.

Hi Pranav

I think instead of passing certain value for taskquery parameter you should pass an empty query string because taskQuery is a query to determine the tasks for which task details should be returned.But If the empty string is passed in, all active tasks assigned to this user will be returned.

This is what u want may be ? If not then as Bill told you query string should be an xml instead of "".
