Hi all,
I upgraded a MediaBin server from 4.5.3 to 4.6.1.
Here they have many multilayer PSD files. When using the MediaBin clients (Win Client and Web Client) all the thumbnails and previews of these files are displayed as a white image. In the old system we had the right previews and thumbnails.
I found a KB note on the support web site that explains a workaround to solve this (see
https://support.interwoven.com/kb/kb_show_article2.asp?ArticleID=60270):
To add a composite thumbnail, save the .psd in Adobe Photoshop and enable the preference to Maximize File Compatibility. (This option is available in Photoshop Edit > Preferences > File Handling.) Then add the asset to the MediaBin repository.
Users can also apply MediaBin's Composite Layer Adder primitive on retrieval and then reinsert the asset in MediaBin. However, this primitive is only available if AGS is installed on MediaBin.
The problem is that we can't ask the customer to download all the PSD files, save them setting the "Maximize File Compatibility" and uploading again the files or download them applying the Composite Layer Adder primitive and then uploading again the files.
The customer is asking for a solution without modifying all the assets.
Is there anybody that is facing the same issue and can send any suggestion to solve this?
Thank you very much for your help.
