Limiting number of files deployed

Hi - Is there a way to limit the number of files that get deployed per job? Either through OD or TS?

We have users that mistakenly submit entire branches with hundreds of files and we would like to stop this from happening.

Note, because I provide a way to do this does not imply I think it is a good idea. In fact I think it is a horrible idea. You will open a lot more problems than you solve.

2 things to try, both WF related.

If you use a WF and filelist deployment, you can, in the script that generates the filelist, stop after a certain number of files. Seriously bad idea IMHO.

You can also, in the template script portion of the WF, drop any folders that are submitted. The only way a person could submit the files would be to view modified, select all and submit. That is less objectionable since it provides the ability to submit what needs submitting while still preventing the wholesale submit.

Of course training and shock treatment for users is the proper solution. Smiley Very Happy

Not all mistakes done by users can be mitigated by changing the code. Smiley Happy

They need to be trained or should be aware of their own actions.
