In the CCPro GUI, when I click on view source under Actions tab, I get a message that "There is no file association for the file file_name, do you want to add one ? "
whats this file association ?

When I click on yes, some file association form comes up with following fields.

file extension
command line browse
DDE message
DDe application
DDE Topic
copy from

Can anyone pls explain this ?

Check the appropriate CCPro user guide documentation and search for "File Type Associations".
(For TS 6.7.1 SP1 that would for instance be pages 56f in ts_671sp1_CCpro_ug_v01_en.pdf).

These are nothing but the external editors that you want the files to be shown. You can browse to the exe of the editor and view source of the ipl or cfg or whatsoever files that you want to see.

Hi

The file association is simply to facilitate use of external editors as desired by the user to edit or view the source code.

As somebody likes to edit htm,jsp in EditPlus but other may feel ease to edit those in notepad++.So by simply associate the file with an editor of choice,a user can perfom various file operations.

The file extension is used by teamsite to determine that which file is associated with which editor.Once you declare the association,next time it will not ask for file association ,it simply opens that file in your associated editor.
