Email to specific address

hi
when using the email task, i specify the recipient by using the -t option, followed by the task name (whose owner i wish to mail).
however, if i wish to specify an actual email address(say, ABC@yahoo.com, who is not a TS user) instead of the task name, what option would i use?

You would create your own custom mail header PT and code it to retrieve the recipient address from a job or, more likely, task-level variable.

Your original post (indirectly) indicated that you were using Solution mail, that's why you've got the answer for it.
If you want to use another mail Client, sure. iwsend_mail will accept "To" list from -t command flag or 'mail_to'

So then if i wanted to send a mail to both the owner of a certain task, as well as to some other specific address, would my arguments would be:

-t taskname -t "abc@yahoo.com"

OR

-t taskname -t "somename"
(where somename is mapped to abc@yahoo.com in the email map file)

Do correct me if im wrong.

Is abc@yahoo.com fixed email id. If it is then you can hardcode this email id in your header tpl file.

If it is dynamic in a way that workflow users are inputting it, one option that I can think of is that to set it in some workflow variable and in your header tpl programatically read the variable. I'll leave the programming part to you.

It's either -t "abc@yahoo.com" or -t "somename" mapped through email map.
Older iwsend_mail works differently than Solution mail, -t taskname will not work in this case (it'll try to evaluate "taskname" as any other uid to be mapped to an address)

i configured my iw.cg iwsend_mail entry as something liek this:
maildomain=mymaildomain.com
mailserver=

Now, is it that i can send mails ONLY to ids such as xyz@mymaildomain.com?
When i tried hardwiring addresses such as abc@yahoo.com in my ccmailheader.tpl file, for use with iw_solution_mail.ipl, i dont receive the mail to my external account, ie, at abc@yahoo.com.
And later i get a mail in my inbox in saying that Delivery to the recipient (abc@yahoo.com) is delayed, and this is then followed by another mail saying that the recipient could not be reached, and hence, it's undelivered.

Is it that we cannot send mails to a domain which is not the same as that mentioned for iwsend_mail in the iw.cfg file?

Behavior you've described is normally not TS issue. You have to talk to your System Administrators that configured your mail server, check Mail Server filtering settings, spam blocking and the like. In other words, make sure that the mail Server allows external mailing the way you need it
