submit changing permissions

Hi,

I have two problems. The first is that submitting a file will (most of the time at least) change the permissions of the file.
Subsequent iwlocks and iwunlocks will then change the permissions as well.

The second problem is that ls -la and iwaccess don't return the same results.

Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks!


$ touch cba
$ ls -la cba
-rw-rw-r--   1 heinemah ccmc           0 Mar  5 08:56 cba
$ iwsubmit cba ""
$ ls -la cba
-r--r--r--   1 heinemah ccmc           0 Mar  5 08:56 cba
$ iwaccess unix-permission cba
rw-rw-r--
$ iwlock cba ""
$ ls -la cba
-rw-rw-r--   1 heinemah ccmc           0 Mar  5 08:56 cba
$ iwunlock cba
$ ls -la cba
-r--r--r--   1 heinemah ccmc           0 Mar  5 08:56 cba

You might check two things:

1. your submit.cfg
2. your locking model

But I'm not sure here.

run iwtestcfg on the specific file, that should explain to you why the perms change on submit

Thanks, but we don't use a submit.cfg.

Then it is your locking model, are you using mandatory write lock ?

You are right, the branch is actually using Mandatory Write locking. I've never seen this before and don't know why it was implemented that way.
