NRL OLE links in Word documents

I want to programmatically add an NRL into a Word document, recreating the manual process of dragging a document from the worklist into a word document. The drag and drop process creates an NRL OLE object. Is there a way I can recreate this from a macro/add in. I can display the iintegrationDlg.DocOpenDlg and get a doc object, I can create an NRL file in the temp dir and create an OLE object that points to this file, but if I delete the NRL file the OLE link breaks. I need to create the OLE NRL link with the NRL properties embedded in the Word document, not as an external NRL file.
