Initiating default workflow from an ipl

Hi,

I need to invoke the default workflow given by Interwoven i.e: author_submit.wft from an external script in windows envt.

Requirement:
1. Trigger an even on New File creation
2. Call an IPL script on this CreateFSE event
3. From within this IPL, call the default workflow = author_submit.wft and pass the new file created.

I need help on point 3 (which is initiation the workflow from IPL). Pls provide me the steps / tips how to do it.

I could not get much information by looking in wfdev guide. I am using windows OS. Pls advice

If little more steps can be provided, it will be really helpful as don't have much time to do R&D.

Hi Team,

It is not that complex rather pretty simple concept. I am not sure if Adam would like to but noone can spoon feed a basic concept. You will have read the guide and call iwwft_compile.ipl as you would invoke any other ipl from your IPL.

I looked at iwptcompile.ipl but it says it is for compiling presentation templates. whereas I am not working on TPL's as of now.

I just need to know the steps to invoke a WFT from an IPL in windows envt.

So far what I am doing is as follows:

1. stored all required TAG values in variable . i.e user, branch, vpath, file, wft to use.
2. my $wft = TeamSite::WFtemplate->new(template => $wf_template,); doing this to get the workflow
3. I need now to instantiate it.

Pls if anyone can provide those basic steps, it will be helpful. I am new to workflow development.

Please at least read the post.. Adam referred you to iwwft_compile.ipl and not iwptcompile.ipl

can u explain what is jobspec.xml and what is wfinput.xml.
I am getting error "File Not found"

Before telling you what wfinput.xml and jobspec.xml are - perhaps you could try telling us what you think they are - and then we'll tell you if you got it correct.

If you've done any reasonable amount of reading on TS workflows or taken any training on TS workflows - the above should be trivial (which clearly it isn't for you, since you're asking here).

My advice - read more, take training, or hire someone who has the requisite skills for the job that you appear to be trying to do without having those skills.

May be I was not clear on my question.
I was not able to correctly pass the parameters for generating job spec.

But now i got it worked.
