OD and CH upgrade

We have OD 6.0.0 along with CH 2.0 which is the CPS 2.0 bundle. After the EOL announcement of OD, we have planned to upgrade OD alone, but reading through the support site it is recommended to upgrade the CH as well, which is the entire bundle to be upgraded to CAP 3.0. Does anyone have the same experience and if so, could you let us know the upgrade steps and are there any upgrade documents available related to this.
