Save content in data base

Hello,

I'm trying to create a datacapture form for saving the content in a database.

Has anyone an example where after complete a datacapture form the content is saved in a database?

DCRs are saved as XML

You can use DataDeploy from Interwoven (an add on to OpenDeploy) to save it to a DB.

You could also write a callserver on the save event and save it to a DB. If you really know what you are doing.

Hi,
You can associate a tpl to do so. Create perl module having the functionality of inserting the data to the database and call it from tpl.

True, but if you are saving to a DB, you may not be using TPLs. But if he is using a TPL and the users do a preview/generate, this is a good option.

Nowadays we have an application written in ASP that is using a data base to store all the contents. But we want to manage all the content with TeamSite.

Our idea is to re-use the content from the data base, so we want to save all the new content in the DB too.

What do you think about it?
Is a good idea to store all the new content in the data base?

I think that we have to use DataDeploy for this aim, isn´t it?

This is a common application of DCRs. Yes use datadeploy, you could do it manually (with a perl script somewhere) but the cost of development would likely outweigh the cost of datadeploy.
