Teamsite template change - help needed

Hi all,

Our users face some issues with template field width. (Pls see the attachment)

Once submitted the data is stored in Oracle database.

All the fileds are of type LONG(2GB) in database. But, the user complains they can not enter and submit successfully 2GB of data.

Any suggestions here?

Could you please provide as what type of error they are getting? Or it is just that the system gets too slow to submit the form an deploys the data to DB?

Also, what ways of data submission is being used? Data Deploy or custom scripts?

Do you really understand what you are talking about? Gigabyte is 1024 megabytes.

An average web page (including graphics) is about 50 kilobytes - so 1 gigabyte stores 20,000 web pages.
(That's Twenty thousand average Pages). A high resolution (5-6 megapixel) digital camera JPEG picture
is about 2-3 megabytes so you can store 350-500 of these images for 1 gigabyte.

Do you really try to *Enter* this amount of Data in the DC Form textarea?! In the Browser Form?! How?

Infact, I have not explained it well. The users are not trying with 2GB of data exactly. They are trying with probably 4000 or above characters (esp when they enter non English data , the number of characters is more ).

When the user exceeds the text space, they can save and even submit the file, however they cannot preview it, nor does the file submit properly. In the situation of the Solution pages, we saw the whole "answers" section not display at all. No error is actually displayed upon save or submit on any files in Teamsite.

We have some custom scripts which will be triggered to write the attribute information from the DCRs into the BroadVision production database.But I can not see any limit set by these scripts also.

Divide and conquer.

Forget Oracle, Broad Vision and DCR processing in general, that's secondary.
Get problematic DCR and open it up with the Text Editor outside of TS. Has the File been properly saved?

If not, what exactly is the problem manifestation? ( Saved no more than 4000 bytes, always truncated on
certain symbol(s), this sort of things...). Indicate your Platform, TS Version and SP/Patches Level
