RSS Feed generation CDATA question

I've leveraging existing content to insert into a feed. The resulting feed is the result of content from 1 "listing" dcr and multiple "news" DCR's. These make up the channel and item parts of the feed.

My issue is that some data contains special characters. I have two options.

1). Encode them
2). wrap the content of the node <description> in a CDATA tag. However I cant get my pt to output the text required to write a CDATA tag. I have tried both iwperl and iwtags

Anyone done this? Is there something I'm missing or is escaping the best option?

Just for the record. I did search but my terms were related to RSS. I now know the error of my ways. Thanks for your direction and patience Smiley Wink
