role files not getting updated from GUI

Hi friends,

When I select role for a user from GUI Administration tab, TS role files are not getting updated. And I do reset the server always from GUI Smiley Happy

.

What could be the problem here?

Can you see the roles assigned to the current users using the GUI? What are the steps you are following? Were you able to assign roles to user earliar using GUI. Is it possible for you to add a user in any of the conf file manually and try to iwreset from GUI and see if that user is reflecting in GUI?

Which TS version are you using?

TS 6.5 SP3.

It's been a recent problem, earlier it was working fine.

I can add in role file manuaaly,and after iwreset it works fine.

If you try to enter the user id of any existing user, does it reflect the roles assigned to the user? While you try to edit, are you getting any message/error? Is there any recent change in configuration files/location? Can you see anything in the logs?

Please try to see there is no backup file in the roles folder with same name. You need to check whether the TS GUI is adding/deleting users to/from correct uid files or not doing so at all. Check the files permission as well for TS, it should be writable. Also check if this is SP3 upgrade after which you are facing this!
