Upgrade - cross platforms

To upgrade from TS 6.5/ linux to TS 6.7.1/windows, do I have to copy content store first to windows or do I need to install TS first ?

If I copy content store first then Where do I specify the location of content store during installation ?

Did you check the Upgrade docs for 6.7.1, You generally copy iw-store to you larger Drive on Windows. and then Install Teamsite and point it to the Drive letter where iw-store exists.

There is no hard rule that you should be doing this in this way, since you are migrating from one server to other server. You can migrate it after installation of Teamsite 6.7.1 on new server too.

I do not believe that you can just copy a backing store from Linux to Windows. Everything differs, binaries and security credentials including.

You would have to install TS on Windows first with the backing Store located on the (suitably large) Drive, Raid, NAS, SAN or the like.
Then it is up to you to come with the scripts to *extract* and transition Files, MD, Editions and the like. See some discussion [thread=19625]here[/thread].

It's far from trivial in any case and may become outright nasty if you want to maintain history for example. Also, there are no supported
mechanisms to transfer Dynamic Assets like active Workflows to the different Platform.

You will have to manually replicate the branching structure, similar to the one on linux, and them copy over the content/data files. EA need to be taken care off as well.
You will have to thoroughly test the entire migrated content, ane be prepared to resolve certain other trivial issues.
