Error while updating DCR

I am trying to update an existing dcr and Iam getting "save was unsuccessful.Invalid category/Type null was received" error. But I am able to create a new dcr with the same info with no problems. Where am I doing wrong? Please help. Thanks in advance.

There may be some custom code on your save it, which is called for edit action of a dcr and not for save of new dcr. Please post your datacapture.cfg with any javascript code alongwith it.
Please state you environment details too.

But when Iam trying to edit this even my callouts are not working and When I try to save, it says "save was unsuccessful.Invalid category/type null was received.". If the code is incorrect then why is it working with a new file.

Can you please provide me with steps on how to debug this problem so that I can try everything before posting my files. Thanks.

You haven't mentioned your TS details.

As I said earlier, there must be some custom code which is either doing reset/modifying some value(s) in the dcr, which is causing it to be invalid on save. You need to look at the conditions which may make your dcr invalid for save. You can check what all parameters is being passed to callout.

Start by trying to remove the javascript association. Also check as when you do an Edit, it is fetching out correct results within your callouts.

Ok I removed all the js association . My datacapture now has just the [html] [/html] info but even then I am getting the same error.

OK I found the problem. Actually I have a replicant container which displays 1 item when the form is initialized when you create a new file. If I make the no of items in the replicant 0 by deleting that one item and save,generate etc. Later when I want to update this dcr it is giving me the above problems. If I have even one item in my replicant container the problem doent exist. Do you think my replicant container coding is wrong?

Is there a way to display 0 items when you initialize your form. I gave min='0'
but it doesnt help. Any ideas.
