Multiple libraries
lenoxmike
We had the privelige of viewing another users customized Quick Search page. This page included the ability to search multiple "libraries".
This allowed default quick search results to be limited only to active assets, for example. (other assets were in an "archive" library).
What's the best approach to executing this? Interwoven states that the term "Library" isn't really in the Media Bin lexicon.

Sorry to take so long getting a response, but queries such as this are usually addressed in the "MediaBin Product Line" forum.
The term "Library" really suggests WorkSite or WorkSite MP. Coul dyou posisbly have been seeing one of those products (especially UNiversal Search)?
To answer the MB question, the simplest way to hide something from search would be to change permissions. You can also specify a starting point for any search but it would take some coding to ensure that the default search started in a subdirectory.

Thanks for the reply. We're on track to develop some customization along these lines. Our plan is to segregate retired assets within a parallel folder structure.
We don 't intend to restrict usage of these, so permissions that prevent users from seeing them is overkill.
We're attempting to make two selectable, searchable sets of assets: Active and Retired.
