strange email send issue

hi,

We have wft file ,one is for QA and the other is for PROD.

__INSERT__( iw_get_mail_cmd('ka_send_publish_mailQA','ProdEmail', $iw_user,$document_id) );------call the script

__INSERT__( iw_get_mail_cmd('ka_send_publish_mail','ProdEmail', $iw_user,$document_id) );------call other script

Each wft will call one ipl to send email.

The issue is the first wft can send email but the second can not.

I checked in sendmail.log and both scripts have been executed and I compared the two sendmail.ipl script and found that they are almost the same(only in the email body , url is changed).

What else should I check for this issue ? Is there any other system log I should look into ?

Any help is appreciated.

Please enclose your XML and/or HTML code within [html]...[/html] tags so that they show up correctly (as I did above) and use Preview Post to verify what your post looks like before actually posting it.

If the above snippet of code is to be taken literally - it will never work because the WFT DTD clearly stipulates that an externaltask must have one (and only one) command element.

If the above snippet of code is meant to represent a merged view of two WFTs - then it would seem that you have a problem with one of your custom scripts - and you'll have to debug it yourself.

Since you don't mention what version of TS you are using (another good habit to get into when posting in these forums) it's difficult for us to tell you which of the various logs you should look at - but I'd start with all the log files you find in IWHOME/local/logs and IWHOME/local/logs/iwui

'ka_send_publish_mailQA' & 'ka_send_publish_mail' are the script which we send the mail .

I have debuged in IWHOME/local/logs/sendmail.log (This is defined in our script) , both of them reached the end of the script but the first one can send an email while the second one can not.

I also checked the log in IWHOME/local/logs/iwui, none of them is updated with the current time stamp. They are marked with 2007 .

Any else I should check ?

5.5.2 is ancient and no longer officially supported (it was end-of-life'd more than two years ago I believe) so you should really be looking to upgrade ASAP.

That being said - you'll simply have to do more debugging on your own - these are custom scripts which means you have the full flexibility of adding your own debugging code to them as you see fit - if you search the forums or read the various perldoc's you'll find more information about debugging email sending problems - so I suggest you do some research and work on debugging it yourself since you are the one with the custom scripts and the environment in which one works and the other doesn't.
