XSLT removing a namespace attribute

Hello
I am hoping that you'll be able to help me with a XSLT problem. It is not teamsite related but I know you guys are very good at XSLT.

I have a XML that contains a namespace that I want removed.

I want to simply remove xmlns:ns0="http://sap.com/xi/XI/SplitAndMerge"

from this XML message. It should be possible with a very simple XSLT - I have tried everything I know.
