DD license not found

Hi,

I've just been upgrading my client's Opendeploy from 6.0.2 to 6.2 on a windows box.

This upgrade went fine in our local test environment, but on the live server we are encountering an error on deployment:

ERROR - DD license required to run deployment
Error: AGENT_INITIATOR_FAILED, DD license not found

I have already requested a new OD license and written over old one in the od-home etc directory.

Any idea what could be causing this?

Database Auto-Synchronization (DAS) is an integrated feature of the OpenDeploy base
server. DataDeploy is a licensed add-on module to the OpenDeploy base server. Both
these capabilities are described later in this chapter. Refer to “Add-On Module
Licensing” on page 40 in the OpenDeploy Installation Guide for more information.

If you are generating the license then the license form has a check box for DD. Make sure you check that. Or contact supportadmin at interwoven dot com and they should be able to help you with this.

I've made sure DD was checked off, thanks msrivas.

And as of OD version 6, DD is no longer an licensed addon but a part of OD, if I've read the similar forum posts here correctly, Nipper.

The text I pasted was from the 6.2 DD Admin manual. The instructions for licensing the add on are in the OD Install guide.

If you open the OD.lic in a text editor you will see if DD is licensed or not

Reading through the manual, I get the impression I should have 30 days to get my licenses in order- the upgrade was done today, and the license error is occurring today... Which was not expected.

From the manual:

You have unrestricted use of the DataDeploy and Intelligent Delivery modules for 30
days after installation, similar to the basic OpenDeploy functionality
----------------------------

Again, I've also confirmed that DataDeploy=true in the OD.lic file

for the 1st part, I *believe* it means you can run unlicensed for 30 days. But now that it is licensed, it is checking to see if you are licensed for everything you are trying to use. Now why you have DD=true in your license file and yet it is complaining is an issue for support.

In the meantime, rename the OD.lic file and see if you can run DD for 30 days. Hopefully support will have figured this out by then. Smiley Very Happy

Hmm, I wonder if it looks at the original install date (OD 6.0.2) for the start rather than the date you upgraded to 6.1 (when determining the beginning of the 30 day window.

When you renamed the license, did you get a different error ? Did OD work ?
