workflow traversing different workareas

author is in one workarea and the work is to be reviewed by reviewer in another workarea. Is it possible to include users from different workareas ?

Is it possible to include users in different branches ? I think permisions issue will arise.

Different workareas - no problem - though you'll need to have an updatetask included in your process to transfer the files from one workarea to another and then make sure you specify the correct areavpath for each task / user.

Different branches - non-trivial - you might be able to use an updatetask for that too - but you have to remember that all files associated with each task in the workflow are specified relative to the [workarea] areavpath.
