Perl Command Execution

Hi,

I'm working on a project where i need to get infos from a DCR to put into a static page. On the data capture, i have fields to get the HTML files that the user wants to add in his current page, and then i want to take the DCR associated to this HTML to treat it with a : iwpt_load_dcr
When i'm trying to launch the command iwextattr to have the XML, it doesn't return anything (but when i'm doing it on a perl file and launching it from windows, it's working).

Here is my code:

my $htmlFile = iwpt_dcr_value('Iterate_Columns.Card'); #getting my field here
$htmlFile =~ s/\/cards\///; # parsing to have the name of the html file
my $cardsdir = iwpt_get_dcr_name('dirname'); #getting the working dir
$cardsdir =~ s/templatedata(.*)/cards/; # building the cards directory
my $file = "$cardsdir\\$htmlFile"; # with the html file
$file =~ s/\\/\\\\/g; #protection of the path to double the \ (otherwise command fails)
$command = "iwextattr -g TeamSite/Templating/PrimaryDCR $file";
iwpt_output($command); #the output is correct here
my $xmlFile = `$command`;
iwpt_output($xmlFile); #nothing shows up ...

I'm working on teamsite 6.0
I'm stuck, and honestly i don't understand the problem here, i wanted to know if this script is the right way to do it, and if so, where is my mistake?

It maybe a permissions issue, put a step in the script to run a dir od the workarea or directory. Also, dump your env variables as well.

I'm connected as master of the application and have full rights on the machine and on the folders, and the dir is working, i did it already as a test to check the path, per se here:

So the command seems to be working, so does the output, cause in my generated file, my dir shows like above...
For the dump i don't know how to put it on my page since iw_output(%ENV) doesn't work

Redirect STDERR to STDOUT. Like that:

$command = "iwextattr -g TeamSite/Templating/PrimaryDCR $file 2>&1";

It won't help to execute the command but it'll show you error messages if any

I added the line but since i'm testing directly on the application, it doesn't show anywhere.
Do you mean i have to run the templace from a command line?

It may be as stupid as not having iwextattr in the path of the user you are trying to execute.

use TeamSite::Config;
my $iw_home = TeamSite::Config::iwgethome();
$command = "$iw_home/bin/iwextattr -g TeamSite/Templating/PrimaryDCR $file";
