we started using mediabin enterprise edition, we have setup asset server, web client and oracle database. we have to import 30000 images into mediabin. i am not sure whether to use java api or perl. can someone please give me brief steps to use API or how to import images through script or api. I am looking for the starting point. please suggest the better way and point me to any related documentation.

So, I am assuming that you are trying to add metadata and build a container structure to go with the ingest. In that case you can use the MediaBin Webservices API along with Java/VB.NET etc., The MediaBin API doc is available on the support site and the MediaBin Webservices API installer also has some good examples as a starting point.

Right. The recommendation varies depending on your exact requirements. It can be as simple a s a drag and drop from a filesystem into the Windows Native Client, or as complicated as a (custom) detailed ingestion application using external data sources to populate metadata.

Thanks for the response. yes, my requirement is to import based on metadata from external source. i am looking for the starting point to use MB API for java.

Hi ,

You need to configure apache for using MediaBin Java SDK for mediaBin Services, Using Axis and MediaBin SDK, You need to develop a web service for your project need. There are predefined Web services which are given by MediaBin.
