Error while saving DCR | Migrated DCR from 61SP1 to 671SP1.

I m in the process of migrating a set of DCTs and DCRs created using them. I m running into issues while trying to save an existing / save a new form. I don't see any validation in the form failing/anything being captured wrongly that will force the validation to go false.

from TeamSite 6.1sp1 in Solaris 8
to TeamSite 671sp1 in Linux ESA

Type of the DCR created using this template is "xml" in both old and new instance of teamsite.

Has anyone seen the below issue/ any pointers to resolve this issue - highly appreciated.

I noticed something very intersting from the template end in teamsite - the action items in the DCT vanishes whn i try to click the save button twice consecutively...

I already saw a helluva lot of issues with 6.7.1 SP1. Especially on Linux.

with this one - try to check the DCT's and DCR's encoding and DTD. I had luck changing 4.5 DTD to newer ones. Also, if you have a Ektron field, try to (art least temporarily) switch it to tiny MCE and see if this fixes the issue.

have you edited the DCR using a text editor to change its underlying DTD or just changed the DCT?

modified both DCR and DCT.
we were validating the DCR against a custom written DTD, the custom DTD does not have anything crazy but just the elements of DCT.
modified the custom DTD reference to point to 4.5, 5, 6 in both DCR & DCT, still pops out the same stack.
confusing part is the API is throwing an NPE -- which i know is pretty bad./

can you please attach DTD and datacapture.cfg....it will be useful to investigate further.Also attach the formapi you have written....
