Template working

I captured data in DCT and saved to create DCR. Now when I open this DCr first time, it shows the data in all fields. If I login again in TS and chech this DCR, then none of the data is there. Why is it so ?

Secondly, I have creted a simple TPL, but its not working and all the time it gives this error
" An error occurred in utility daemon. Error code: 4. Please see details in iwutild.log. "

I dont see anything wrong with my code. I am putting that code here. It is properly configured in templating.cfg.

I have been trying for long but can not find the error.

Not sure what the DCR issue is. First thing to do though is to check saved DCR as a File, bypassing TeamSite edit.
For example, use ls/cat commands on iwmount (Unix) or dir/type commands on Y: Drive (Windows). That would allow you
to find out if captured Data has been really saved.

Btw, it's a good idea to indicate your TS Version/SP Level and the Platform when you ask for the help

I was able to use TPL files before. But now, I dont know why is it causing error.

Its working now. Everything I did was, changed DCR type from iwov to xml. I tried to preview it. It didnt even generate preview. So I just changed back xml to iwov and generated preview, it worked to generate preview. Then I clicked on preview on this file and it generated html preview.
I dont understand what was wrong. I just changed one thing and then came back to original thing. It was not working before and after coming back to same thing, its working.
Can anyone pls explain this behaviour.

The DCT type definitions "iwov and xml" describe/define the structure of dcr that are created. By defining DCR type as xml, you are binding the DCR created to be tightly bound to xml rules and dtd.

In your case, on changing the DCR type to xml, the preview failed because during the process of prevuiewing. This is because when you preview, the dcr structure is validated for its type definition and obviously a "iwov" formated DCR will fail when validated for "xml" format.

Thanks, but issue is different. Pls see following steps

First - dcr format was iwov - preview did not work
Second - dcr format changed to xml from iwov - it gave an error and you provided explanation for that.
Third - dcr format changed back to iwov - preview is working now

So why was it not working in first place ?

At the outset, the following may be the reason for the initial preview error.

a) The configuration changes may not have registered properly. (File not properly saved)
b) Some minor syntax error in the configuration
c) Teamsite might not have noticed the configuration changes the first time you tried the preview.
