Error Opening DCR

I migrated dcr from a solaris box running TS 6.5 ono to TS6.7.1 on a windows box. The EA have been extracted and applied but the migrated DCRs some how are not opening in the template form for edit (they are opening in a text editor.

Checking the properties on the migrated dcr confirm that the EA, as extracted, are applied.

Try to create new dcr and edit them.
Check for the EA "TeamSite/Templating/DCR/Type" value, whether its correct w.r.t the directory structure and the entry in the templating.cfg.

Any more specific information in the error ? Can you post a DCR ? Did you by chance start using the XML style templates and were using IWOV style before ?

You may want to create a new one as well and post both.

Here is what was done.

- Extracted EA for the dcr from the solaris box
- Migrated/ copied all dcr's to the windows environment
- Applied the EA extracted.
- Verified that the EA was applied.
- The DCR are originally created in the IWOV style and configuration is the same on the windows server.
- Tried to create a new DCR it worked fine in the edit mode later.

When try to edit the migrated DCR it opens up in a text editor, like any other text file.

Any other check points to verify?

Can you check to see if there are any extraneous characters at the end of the lines ? Or in the file in general ? Any BOM characters ?

I'd have to think that either the EAs are not 100% correct or the directory path is not 100% correct.
The only reason that I can think of for the DCR to get downloaded and thrown into a text editor is because TeamSite doesn't recognize the file as, in fact, being a DCR - and that's by virtue of the EAs and the directory structure mapping with respect to templating.cfg.

No difference was observed on comparing the EA between the migrated DCR and the New DCR.

One-thing to highlight here, is that the new DCR contained additional EA "iw_form_valid: true" . The same has been appended to the migrated DCRs EA but still the DCR are not editable in the template.

Since you seem to be a new user on devnet. Can you please explain what directory structure are you using for storing the DCRs? Also, please post your templating.cfg and a snapshot of what all EAs have been applied to the DCRs...

If you need help from Devnet, you need to provide information people are looking for.. If you wanted to troubleshoot yourself, then you should say so upfront
