OpenDeploy deletes instead of insert to db

We have a strange problem while installing OD 6.2 on TS 6.7.1 SP1/RH Linux on Intel machine.
The OD 6.2 configured on the new server deletes the contents from db, instead of update/insert.
I have updated database.xml, odbase.xml, odnodes.xml, odsnmp.xml. We have a receiver deploying to the same db client.
Please let me know if this is any problem on the OD/DD configuration.
We had been using OD 6.1 (datadeploy integrated) on the previous machine and it works well.

Can you attach your deployment configuration file and log file?

Check your logs, often it is because the DCR is not found, so it deletes it.

Do you have the correct TS version listed in deploy.cfg ? That will cause this problem

Thanks Nipper, that worked. Never imagined such a simple change would fix it. I see them in the manual too.. missed that part :-)

I have exactly the opposite problem, even though I have deleted all the DCR the records don't get deleted. Although Insert and update happens correctly. Can you help me please?

Which version of TS/OD are you on and the OS.
Have you customized your code to delete from database.
If yes, check for the paths that you may have given in the configs.

I am using TS 6.7.1 Service Pack 1 and OD version 6.1.1.0.0.

What code customization is required for delete ? I have been reading that the deletion of DB records will happen automatically on deletion of DCR.

Your help will be a great relief for me, as if this doesn't work I will have to delete records by calling delete queries.

Well, we have done a bit of custom code for this to work. Thats how its designed for our app.
Do you have the correct odbase.xml, odrcvr.xml, database.xml configs.
Did you check the deploy configurations on $od-home/OpenDeployNG/conf/ directory.

Do you deploy to the same server or a different server?

Also - do you deploy from the same area (same workarea, or staging area) or from different workareas or editions? This matters, I believe, because the full path information is used in the IWDELTRACKER table - and if you deploy the file initially from WA-1 and then delete and deploy it from WA-2 - it wont find a match in the IWDELTRACKER table and thus won't generate a delete event.

Since I am still developing I am running the command "iwodcmd start" from command prompt instead of calling from workflow. So I assume that it should not be an issue of change of WA (correct me if wrong).

The two statements are not a complete "proof"
You could run your deployments from the command line specifying a different workarea - that's no different than having it run from a script in a workflow that processes different workareas or an edition.

In order to fully verify what is happening - I'd recommend:

Sure I will do that, thats good suggestion, but I have asked this query after refering to "OD.610.ddadmin.pdf".
Deploying Multiple XML-Formatted Files as a List of Filelists

From which I understand that the files which need to be persisted in DB are listed here.
But when I can get the DCR to inserted and updated without this file list, why do I require this file list just because Records are not getting deleted ?
And if I missing reading some pdf where this is clearly mentioned, please let me know.

I am reading around iwsyndb -synctracker , whether this has something to do with it (deleting DB records in Standalone)?
I am refering on need basis (Please excuse me if I am supposed to read line by line all the below pdf)
"od.610.ddadmin.pdf", "od.610.ref.pdf", "OD.610.ddadmin.pdf" etc. etc etc for OD alone.

Yes but filelist is an OpenDeploy function that works in DataDeploy as well. If you understand how it works in OpenDeploy then using it in DD is easy

It isworking fine.... issue was in the trial and error process I had added a column Path in the root group table.
